Unable to boot skeleton of v0.03

Hi Peter and welcome to the list.

Can you check that these two files has been generated:
nard/intermediate/boot/initramfs.cpio.gz
nard/intermediate/fs/init

I guess you have a serial console hooked up? Can you post the boot log?
